Local 2093 Members Show Solidarity Beyond the Jobsite

Union solidarity extends beyond the jobsite at AFSCME Local 2093.  When members working at St. James Veterans Home heard that their coworker, Bobbie Petty, had lost her home in a fire, they took action immediately and came together in support of their fellow union member.

"Our union is about more than our jobs. It's about community," said local AFSCME member, Kay Wofford.

Members are taking donations, holding bake sales, and purchasing gift cards to help out.

AFSCME Local 876 members stand up for the work they do

At the 30th Annual Desloge Labor Day Parade, AFSCME members who work at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center let the public know they stand for strong public services and support candidates who believe the same.

This year Local 876 members have worked hard to protect vital services for the thousands of Missourians who depend on them. On Labor Day, they showed their support for Tommy Sowers, 8th Congressional District candidate and a supporter of public services and the men and women who provide them.

“We have to support candidates who will fight for public services and Missouri jobs," said Keith Neighbors from Farmington. "Election day is approaching rapidly and we can't afford to sit on the sidelines."
