AFSCME Activists Head for Columbia! Council 72 to Hold Social Event & Training on June 20-21

AFSCME activists from around Missouri and Kansas will descend on Columbia on the weekend of June 20 & 21 for a Friday night reception, followed by a day-long training on Saturday.

Attendees will get refresher courses on organizing, grievance handling, bargaining, union administration, union finance, and internal and external political action. They will also participate in a Q&A panel session featuring Local Union leaders from around the Council. Members in attendance will have a chance to enjoy the company of their brothers and sisters while getting training that will help them propel their unions forward into 2009.

The event will be held on June 20th and 21st, 2008, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3200 Vandiver Drive in Columbia, MO.

Friday evening June 20th we will be hosting a casual reception and social hour in the Conference Center beginning at 6:30pm. The training conference will begin on the morning of Saturday June 21 at 8:00am sharp. The training will end at 5:30pm.
